Grant Charles, Principal
Born and raised in Fort Vermilion, Grant is a longtime resident. After teaching Grade 5, Physical Education and working as a Career Counselor at FVPS, Grant moved into the Assistant Principal and then Principal roles. He is currently in his second year as Principal of RLNS and is very much enjoying it.
With deep roots here, Grant has a connection with students and parents in the region and a love for our small communities. He feels at home outdoors and takes advantage of camping, boating and golfing opportunities in the north.
“I am looking forward to a normal school year with a chance for extracurricular activities and more interactions with our school and community members.”
Shelly Komarnicki, Assistant Principal
An HLPS graduate, Shelly Komarnicki moved to the High Level area as a youth. With an FVSD Bursary in hand she attended university and obtained a teaching degree. Shelly began teaching at SNCS in 2001 and has since taught Kindergarten to Grade 4 at the High Level schools. Last year she joined the RLNS team as Assistant Principal.
As a longtime resident, one of Shelly’s favorite things about the region is the natural beauty of every season change – from the vibrant fall colors and quiet winter whiteness to the exploding spring green and endless summer sun.
“I am looking forward to the return of the celebrations and activities that bring our students, families and schools together as a community.”
